My career started two years ago. I was just graduating from makeup school, and I had a lot of projects in mind that I just couldn't get through. So I was doing collaborative projects on several groups dedicated to this and it allowed me to meet new people, models as well as photographers. I've done bodypainting shows, worked for Studio Harcourt, for Disneyland and now I work for Kryolan makeup brand and on my own.
Your portfolio is impressive. What's the most exciting or challenging opportunity you've had?
Thank you very much, I owe it to my work partner, Jane WOJTKOWIAK, with whom I was able to implement several of my projects which meet her own inspirations. Also with the help of models who play the game hard and are not afraid to take risks! The editorial "La Belle" is among the most exciting opportunities I have had with Jane. Lots of other projects are underway!
Looking back, how has artistic talent changed or influenced you as a person?
As a person, makeup has introduced me to things that I didn't know about like the world of Drag Queen and Drag King, something that I didn't necessarily understand when I was younger. But thanks to the makeup, I was able to open my mind and be more tolerant of some things. The Drag Queen universe spans many things like SFX makeup and chic which suits me a lot. Sometimes I recognize myself in this universe.
How would you describe your signature look and what sets you apart from other artists in your style?
What sets me apart from other artists is that I don't just offer makeup, but a whole universe, an atmosphere, to convey or tell a story to my audience, that is my goal in this area. My signature look are the colorful and even complexions, both clownish and chic, with a touch of glam.
From your perspective, what do you think are some of the keys to being a successful artist?
Be open-minded and creative. Know this constantly renewed and innovated. And above all to show his personality, who we are like it or not.
What is one thing that everyone can do to be the most beautiful in themselves?
Be tolerant of each person, draw inspiration from the work of other artists while notifying them and not plagiarize their work without their permission. Mutual aid between artists rather than shooting each other.
What advice would you give to artists who are just starting out and trying to find photographers to work with?
Being open to several types of collaborative project because that's how I started, it allows you to make great encounters. Being versatile, because being a make-up artist is no longer enough, you have to be a hairdresser to a minimum and with a lot of resources. Try to know her artistic identity, what type of make-up you like, fashion, artistic, cinema… Also pay attention to certain proposals, do not accept everything and any proposal because unfortunately some people take advantage of the fact. that you are a beginner and do not know this area well.
How do you keep up with all the new trends and styles? Where do you get your inspiration from to help you in your work
I follow them mainly on Instagram, like Jean-Paul Gaultier, whom I very much admire. Pages like Vogue, Tushmagasine. Models like Naomi Campbell.
Do you have a muse or a beauty icon that inspires you? If you could have a famous artist mentor for a day, who would it be and why?
Fashion icon for me is Naomi Campbell, I admire Danessa Myrics a lot, she is a professional makeup artist who has developed her own brand, who is both a photographer and a hairdresser, being a versatile makeup artist nowadays is that for me.
I would love to have Danny Sanz as a Mentor, whom I have had several opportunities to meet her. She was my godmother when I was a student, she wrote down my makeup. I saw her again recently, maybe I'll have the chance to collaborate with her. Fingers crossed!
What projects are you working on next and what are your goals for the future?
I'm going to work on projects that focus on artistic / SFX and fashion makeup, with the making of a few outfits, a magical atmosphere. Always with the photographer Jane, we like to transport our audience through the shootings that we do.
