How the ‘Euphoria’ makeup look is still impacting the beauty trends

"Glitter, crystals and rhinestones are giving place to pearls to create a look that’s chic and more wearable in events, but they all come from the same place."

If you happen to see makeup looks with pearls on the eyes and face or with super graphic eyeliners in different colors, it is probably inspired in the teen drama ‘Euphoria’ from HBO. Ever since it premiered, in 2019, it totally changed the way we see and do makeup.

That’s the reason vibrant colors and different eyeliner styles were everything last year, but the shows impact have not ended yet. The Euphoria references are all over Instagram and even on the red carpets – as we saw on last night’s MET Gala.

Glitter, crystals and rhinestones are giving place to pearls to create a look that’s chic and more weareble in events, but they all come from the same place: the love of people for the Euphoria style – specially teens and young adults.

That’s why the Fashion world can’t get enough of that style, because it is a way to connect with the younger generations and catch the eye of the Gen Z, which might be the biggest audience goal of every industry right now.

To connect with Gen Z is to make sure you and your brand will still be relevant in 10 or 20 years, and what’s best to make that connection than using what they’re using in a way they feel seem?

The Euphoria look was the biggest beaty trend of lates 2019 and 2020, and, as far as we can see, it’s not going anywhere – specially not now that the next season is just around the corner.
