Mattei, could you introduce yourself briefly and tell us about your first encounter with photography?
I have loved photography since I was a child but I started taking serious photography at about 18 when my girlfriend gave me an Olympus OM1 as a gift. Since then I have practiced many genres of photography: travel, nature, architecture, weddings, etc. up to the current passions which are underwater photography and fashion / glamor
In your opinion, what are the ingredients for success with fashion photography?
Do not follow the "fashions" and always look for your own style to best represent the customers' products
What does it take to achieve unity between the artistic and commercial aspects of fashion photography?
Fashion photography is essentially commercial but clothes and models represent a "heritage of beauty" that has an artistic form in it. It is up to the photographer to highlight, with his own creative ability, the art that is in what he represents.
What is the most important thing you want your potential customers to know about you?
That I photograph with my heart rather than with my camera
What is the best advice you have ever received and do you follow it?
Not to think that photographs are taken with a camera… and I follow him

How do you feel about digital manipulation in today's photography? What do you think it offers in the final image?
Digital manipulation is essential in modern photography but it must remain just one more tool to create the final image, highlighting the project in detail, without distorting the reality that is photographed.
Is there something you always wonder / think about before you press the shutter button? And ... what's going on in your mind when you're behind the camera?
Before I press the shutter button I think only of the light, the subject and what it transmits to me
What's usually in the camera bag and what's your favorite photo accessory besides your camera?
In addition to the camera with the set of lenses I always carry reflective panels that help me both in the studio and especially in natural light in the final balance of light
What are the next projects you are working on and what are your goals for the future?
The next set is in an airplane hangar with a fantastic model who will be stewardess, commander and mechanic!
