When I filmed stories with my friends, I did it purely for fun. I gravitated toward the camera and wanted to emulate what I saw on screen. As I grew older, I found myself writing stories and was genuinely surprised that my friends and classmates wanted to read them.

I recently returned to photography after stepping away for about two years. I had changed a lot during that time, so I wasn’t interested in recreating the photographer I had been before. This series was really about turning the camera toward myself and discovering what my creative voice looks like now.

Thank you. For me, those words aren't just a title or a catchy phrase for a magazine cover. They are the exact summary of my reality. People see the final picture—the sunshine, the flowers, the coastal aesthetic—and they think it's just a pretty postcard life. But they don't see what it took to get here.

During that very first experience, I was incredibly nervous! I had no idea how to stand or pose until my mother told me to just be myself.
