Muah - Julia BudancevaAlexey , can you tell us about yourself please. Where do you live now and where are your from? How did you discover photography and what motivated you to get started?
I was born and raised in Moscow, I was engaged in boxing until the age of 20, this was my main activity, but after an injury to my hand, my life changed a lot and I became creative. I've always been attracted to photography and I've always loved taking pictures of people)
You have a very unique style. How would you describe your photography to someone who has never seen it?
I like to experiment with light, using all sorts of lanterns, stencils, and homemade objects. I prefer wide focus distance lenses. I love the strange and unusual.
What are the most important lessons you have learned about portrait photography so far?
The most important thing is to trust your own feelings and not be afraid to experiment, the only way you can eventually find your own unique style that will distinguish you from other masters.
Do you remember your first paid photography gig? How did it go?
It's amazing, but the client trusted me to shoot the wedding, it was a good test for me) Years later, I find it funny to look at the former level of my work, but this is my story) Great maestros I think are also not happy with their first shootings)
What gives you ideas and what inspires you to create your beautiful images?
I am inspired by professionals from my environment, stylists, makeup artists, models) Only through joint efforts can we create a masterpiece)
I love when the client completely trusts my taste and gives me freedom of action, so I can fully realize myself and what I shoot)
What is the difference between fashion and beauty photography? What's your favourite?
Each person has a different understanding of beauty, fashion photography has its own specifics and its own trends, which not everyone can understand and appreciate.
What are the biggest challenges being a photographer?
Lack of clients, only over the years with great effort we hear recognition, love and trust)
Do you prefer working on location or in the studio? What's your favorite light source, and why do you choose it?
I like to work in any location, for me it is much more important to choose a model and choose a team for a good result. It's easier in the studio)
What projects are you working on next, and what are your goals for the future?
I want to work with famous people, actors, singers. Shoot for more famous and global magazines and brands.
