Happy to have you here, Diana. Tell us your story, how did you get started modeling and where is your home at the moment?

First of all, Thank you for this amazing opportunity. When something is in your blood, a question like this is hard to answer ha-ha! But my modelling career bloomed when I moved to Toronto where I currently reside. I found myself and realized that no matter how much I try to ignore my talent and hide from who I am, a lot of people tell me every day that I look like a supermodel, so these words kept on being too real to ignore.

What are your favorite genres and styles of modeling? In your opinion, what are your strongest features as a model?

I believe that whatever the day throws at me I do great, I nail it! So, if today we are doing I would say my top two fav shoots are glam and lingerie as i can have a ton of fun with those. But truly I believe that whatever the assignment is, my sole mission is to nail it. So whatever the day throws at me is my favourite. I would say my facial features and my athletic body with my eyes and my beautiful smile being the strongest of all.)

What is the most challenging part of being a model?

I would say the most challenging part being a model and a black one at that, is that individuals of power and brands don't take us seriously unless they can benefit from our self built success. I do not see a strong representation of us darker models to the extent that these brands preach. Their diversity ends on social media or public statements, not on billboards, runways, magazines etc.)

If you could change something in the modeling world, what would it be?

I would change the requirements for models. All bodies, races, genders and so on should be given the same opportunities to express their art form through their style and a display of their truest selves. Change the calls for work! How do you think it makes a plus size model feel when there is a weight spec, or a black model feels when almost all the calls or top roles specify “white/caucasian female)? It's very discouraging.)

What fuels your imagination and provides you with inspiration?

I watch and analyze fashion shows, music videos and live performances. There is just something exhilarating about watching someone perform and connect with their clothes.

What's one of the most interesting shoots that you've done?

My first ever glam shoot in Toronto with Red Stiletto and Meg Wallace. Everyone was surprised that it was my first glamour shoot, I shook myself too. I will always cherish that one ha-ha!

If you could say something to everyone on the planet, what would it be?

I would say to the world, be kind, not nice. People are fighting battles you know nothing about and knowing someone is there not to tear you down helps, and your life could change in an instant

When you want to unwind, what are your favorite go-to activities?

I usually watch recorded live musical performances or play volleyball. Depends on whether i had a long stressful period or i want to blow off some serious steam.

What's something you haven't achieved but hope to?

New York and Milan Fashion Week runway! And the highly coveted Vogue cover!

What projects are you working on next, and what are your goals for the future?

I never reveal my plans but just know that something big is almost ready to be revealed. My main goal right now however, is to graduate from university and put 100% of my energy on my modelling career.

Where can we see more of your works and get connected with you?
