“Last Summer Picnics” captures the carefree spirit of summer through color, friendship, fashion, and nostalgia. Inspired by the timeless imagery of summer picnics, the editorial blends playful gingham prints, fresh fruit, denim, and bold styling to create a vibrant, contemporary interpretation of a familiar summer memory.


The story celebrates individuality and feminine energy while creating imagery that feels nostalgic yet modern —colorful, effortless, and full of personality.


About Last Summer

Last Summer is dressed in red gingham: a strappy sundress, a halter dress over a red skirt, gingham trousers paired with a cropped denim shirt, alongside a blue striped shirt dress worn with a white headscarf. Wicker baskets, fresh flowers and citrus complete the picnic.


Mickey Johnson moves between solo portraits and group scenes on a cream blanket under the trees: the three models lounging with their feet in the air, resting against one another, and holding oranges over one eye in a playful line-up, all in saturated summer colour.
