About Midnight Elegance
Midnight Elegance is set against deep red curtains and black shadow. Isabella Macca wears a cape of layered pearls with fine gold chains over a black dress, a pearl headband and a black net veil falling across her eyes. Her make-up is pure vintage glamour: softly sculpted skin, smoky lids and a bold red lip, with pearl earrings and stacked pearl bracelets.
Bruce Song moves between small rituals and still portraits. She lifts a make-up brush as if at a mirror, raises black satin gloves to her chin and her cheek, and later wears a wide-brimmed black hat that casts half her face into shadow. One frame in black and white turns the pearls to silver, a quiet, cinematic study of old Hollywood elegance.
