Roman Bolshakov: I live the life of an ordinary photographer.

He started taking pictures at the age of 12 with a film camera.

Studied the process of monochrome and color printing and photo development.

For a long time he practiced as a civil lawyer and almost stopped taking pictures.

In 2004 he returned to photography and opened a photo studio.

Since 2013 I have been exclusively engaged in photography.

I use digital and analog cameras.

You have created a unique artistic style. Tell us about it and how you developed it.

As a child, I read a lot of books.

Favorite genres: science fiction, detective, adventure and historical literature.

It develops imagination and helps to create ideas and images for photos.

What are the technical challenges of this kind of photography and how did you overcome them?

There are two problems:

1. Design and create an original costume, decorations and accessories.

In my studio there is an equipped workshop and I make what I need myself.

The main materials are plastic, foam, rubber, ropes and more.

When the product is ready, it is painted in the desired color.

2. Model - unfortunately, where I live, modeling agencies are not interested in cooperation.

You have to look for candidates yourself.

How long does it take to create one of these wonderful works?

Depending on the complexity, preparation and image creation takes from several days to a month.

Finding the right model may take longer.

When everything is ready, the day for shooting is selected.

The photo session lasts 1-2 hours.

The choice of the best photos and processing takes 2-3 days and you can demonstrate the result.

What does life look like for you now and where do you see yourself in the future?

I live the life of an ordinary photographer.

Work in the studio, the implementation of new images, the search for models, photography and photo processing.

In the future, I want to become better and do even more complex and interesting projects.
