Please briefly tell us about your background. Who is Thomas Capasso as an artist?
Thomas Capasso was born in Venezuela. I start taking pictures with my father from whom I learn the basics of this art. To the technical notions I add the emotion, in fact I am convinced that an image must tell something more. My father taught me the magic of film, its use and development, but for 20 years I photographed more out of duty than out of conviction, a somewhat impersonal photograph; However, this is the most important period of my life where I acquire the technique and the basis of my knowledge but it is with the addition of listening to emotions that I complete myself as a photographer, I decide to let my heart also leak out of my photos !!!
A single flow from the soul to the eye that materializes in the shot, in the image. I believe that only in this way can an image become artwork!!! At that time, the passion for brushes, colors and various decorative techniques including the airbrush were part of my world. I love to create and experiment, I discover the magic of light, magic that I will later perfect in my “nude art” photos. They are like my photos, silent, essential, incisive.
In my portraits, you perceive the soul of the people. Mastery of the photographer? Infinite possibilities offered by technology? Who can tell? But what's the point of knowing? The photo is born in the mind, only when it is already defined there, can you hope to see it also in the camera and only then will it be a photo that you really took, an image with a soul.
In the many competitions won I have often imposed myself for the "silence" and the perfection of the shots.
When did you first realize you wanted to pursue a career as a photographer?
I was born into photography and with photography in my blood, a photographer father, a photographer grandfather, it is impossible not to follow these footsteps.
What are the technical challenges of this kind of photography and how did you overcome them?
To make you better understand the meaning of what it means to create a shot of this type, I am talking about the creation of a dessert ... you take the various ingredients, you start mixing them together but it is only during the preparation that by tasting what you do and correcting slowly the sensation of taste you have, you generate the real difference between what you have prepared and what another pastry chef prepares .. this is photography, a set of techniques, well defined linked by the sensations you have visually it is the true creative force it is the sentimental part.

Who is the person that inspires you the most and why?
Caravaggio is the one who has always inspired my photography, my lights are born and follow his style .. a genius in this sense.
You are a creative mind with an exceptional eye for detail, are you able to talk us through your process when creating your art?
I am a maniac of the perfect shot already in the car so most of the time I dedicate to the preparation, the adjustment of the various parameters of the machine, color temperature, framing, details, lights .. My post production as you have well noticed is limited to correct and add value to the photo, it never upsets it, this often allows me to bring home the real feeling of what I took.
What's the most important thing you want your potential clients to know about you?
Reliability, creativity, development of the idea, planning, speed of execution, respect for timing, attention to the smallest details. These are the elements that are my strong point.
What is the most important thing for creating new amazing work?
The passion, and the feeling you put into it.
It is no coincidence that I like to call myself: "Thomas a photographer by passion" but obviously also dedicating myself to computer science, the expression is ambivalent.
What has been the highlight of your career so far and what are your hopes/dreams for the future?
I don't seek approval, I walk my way; I take pictures more for my pleasure and that of the model, maybe that's why my work is then appreciated in the round.
Of course the compliments make me happy because they serve to further enhance what I have done but the real judge is always me, I must be satisfied !!! Dreams in the drawer? Continue to refine more and more techniques and be able to talk about my photography.
