About A Romance in White

A Romance in White plays out in a hotel interior of silver-and-taupe damask wallpaper and a black-and-white chequered marble floor. Jocelyn Yip wears a white corset slip dress with a skirt of feathery, petal-like ruffles, black pointed heels and a sculptural hat of black and white polka-dot tulle that rises like a giant flower above her face. She leans over a black lacquered table, rests her chin on her hands above a jewelled clutch and sits on a striped daybed with the clutch in her lap.


The flashes of colour are small and deliberate: red lips, the multicoloured beads of the clutch, a plum velvet chair. Richard Mandy closes with two more looks, a white gown with a sculpted petal collar and a sheer leaf-cut skirt in front of a glittering bead curtain, and a white dress with a sheer skirt worn with black over-the-knee boots. Elegant and a little rebellious, it is bridal style seen with fresh eyes.
