About Algarve: A Journey with Beatriz

Algarve: A Journey with Beatriz follows Beatriz along the shore of a calm lagoon, with small boats pulled up on the sand, salt marsh and low hills on the horizon. In a sheer white shirt she sets one bare foot on the bench of a white rowing boat, a hand in her dark curls; later she wades into the still water wrapped in pale fabric and sits on the wet sand at the water's edge as the light turns warm.


Giorgio Bettin moves between colour and black and white. In the monochrome frames the water turns silver around her and the tattoos on her chest and arms stand out; in colour, a red lace bodysuit and a long red skirt with a high slit burn against the deep blue water, as she sits on a weathered wooden jetty and leans against a rusted post. It is a relaxed, sunlit portrait of a woman and a coastline.
