About Displacement

Displacement is a study in reworked menswear against a plain grey studio backdrop. Matias Esposito wears pieces by Coroko: a cropped, raw-edged denim vest built from old jeans, worn over a pastel-striped shirt with panels of plain grey and cream, loose light-wash jeans and brown leather boots, with a patchwork denim bag slung over the shoulder.

Gustavo Kin turns the model around the camera, front, side and back, so the construction of each piece reads like a map: pockets in new places, seams that cross, panels that do not match. Tight portraits of his face and dark tousled hair, and a final close-up in a crisp white shirt against blue, bring the story back to the person inside the clothes.
