About Glam Doll
Glam Doll is a study in black, shot in the studio against soft grey. Candice Renay wears a one-shoulder black crop top over a high-waisted black skirt with a cut-out and a thigh slit, with sculptural gold earrings and her hair slicked into a bun; later a long-sleeved black dress with a jewelled cut-out at the waist and full, glossy curls. She stands with her hands on her hips, turns in profile on a round plinth and sits cross-legged on a cane chair.
Nicole Felton moves between black and white and warm colour, from close portraits that catch every detail of skin and gold jewellery to playful multiple exposures, where the figure repeats across the frame or blurs into a blue-tinted walk. Poised, polished and a little theatrical, it lives up to its title.
