Goizane Jayo: my biggest dream is to continue developing jobs in the world of fashion photography

When did your passion for photography start and what were the main milestones that turned you into the artist you currently are?

My passion for photography began when I was taught how to operate a camera and take it to the field of fashion. I think the most important steps I took was to learn how to manage a photo shoot from 0 while I lived in London, then start publishing in specialized magazines and today be able to publish in magazines like Elle

Tell us a bit more about your project "Venetian Romance". Is there any particular message you would like to get across to the viewers?

We wanted to highlight the most romantic side of fashion by joining vaporous garments with a place as magical as the Ca' Sagredo hotel in Venice

What are the technical challenges of this kind of photography and how did you overcome them?

I think the biggest challenge of this fashion shoot was undoubtedly the low natural light, since we did not have artificial light support. I had to force the camera parameters a little and then "clean it" it in post-production

We admire the exquisite level of detail in all your works. Does your creative process start from a certain image in your mind, or do you seek inspiration as you progress?

Most of the time I have an idea in my mind that I later support with images that resemble it so that my team understands what I mean. When the day of the shoot arrives and I have some freedom I always let myself go a little to see if I can get something different

Would you have any tips for non-models on how to look good in front of the camera?

Super important to practice a lot in front of the mirror, slow and transient changes so that you do not notice that you are thinking about your next movement and a perfect command of your hands

You have an impressive portfolio. How would you describe your signature look and what is it about your style that sets you apart from other photographers?

I wouldn't know how to classify myself in a style but if I have been told that the type of lighting of my images is something characteristic

What is your dream in terms of your career?

Currently my biggest dream is to continue developing jobs in the world of fashion photography, either in larger campaigns or in recognized magazines. On the other hand, I would like to continue developing my skills as an editor

If you couldn't be a photographer, what would be your other career choice?

Surely something related to animals or architecture

What is typically in your camera bag and what is your favorite photography accessory, other than your camera?

I always carry 3 lenses, several batteries, memory cards and a rag to clean the lens

What projects are you working on next, and what are your goals for the future?

Right now I am focused on a project in Paris and another in Madrid. My goals would be to be able to publish in Vogue
