Light and Dark Integrated is a fashion editorial photographed by Jenny with model Gláuçia Monteiro, who was also the creative director, wardrobe stylist, makeup artist and hair stylist of the shoot, published in the printed edition MALVIE Celebrating Diversity 129. In the photographer's words: "Because dark is beautiful."

About Light and Dark Integrated

Light and Dark Integrated is set in the concrete and steel of a covered stairway: wide grey steps, metal mesh screens, black railings and a bare concrete wall. Gláuçia Monteiro, with cropped platinum hair and a tattooed arm, wears a cropped black jacket covered in studs, buckles and rings over a red crop top, wide black trousers laced up the sides and chunky black platform boots.


Jenny photographs her from low angles: crouching on the steps with her chin on her hand, reaching up toward the stairs above, climbing against the mesh, leaning into the railings and against the wall. The palette stays black, grey and red, a strong, self-possessed portrait in the spirit of its title.
