Happy to have you here, Lizzie. Tell us your story, how you got started modeling, and where is your home at the moment.
Thank you so much for having me! I started modeling at 14 years old. I got scouted from a NYC Agent and was modeling the next week after taking my first set of digitals. My home is New Jersey, forever a Jersey Girl.
Tell us more about yourself. What else do you do next to modeling?
Along with modeling, I nanny for an amazing family. During the pandemic I was there everyday! I'm still so close with them and I visit almost once a week!
What do you love most about being a model? And, what do you least enjoy?
What I love most about being a model is the ability to work in a creative environment. I'm always coming up with concepts in my head and pitching ideas and mood boards to photographers. I also love the fact I can be a positive role model in aspiring models' life, I love to mentor up and coming models. My least favorite thing is a tough question because no matter what challenge I have set before me, I always turn it around to make it enjoyable and a fun experience for everyone involved.
What is the most challenging being a model?
The most challenging thing about being a model will have to be the image people have of you when they find out you model. Most people expect a model to be stuck- up or a mean girl. In all my years in the industry, I've never met a model who was rude or mean in anyway. I don't tend to let people know I model until they ask because of that reason!
If you could change something in the modeling world, what would it be?
If I could change anything in the modeling world it would be to have a mental health consultant in every agency in every country. People like to assume we live a perfect life and are perfect human beings, but we're human beings. We all struggle with something within ourselves and it's very hard to complain while being a model, people don't want to hear it! It's also hard for people to relate with the problems you face working as a model; I think it's very important all models have someone in their corner at all time checking on them!
What fuels your imagination and provides you with inspiration?
I've been studying classic 90's models since I started modeling. Kate Moss is my number one inspiration. I have lots of Art books and I'm constantly finding inspiration through past generations.
What keeps you excited about life in general?
What keeps me excited about my life is the fact I still have so much time to achieve all that I want to achieve in life. I cant wait to see what else I can accomplish. I know i'm capable of anything I put my mind to, I can't wait to see where that takes me next!
Looking back how has modeling experience changed your personal/professional life? Have you grown more comfortable with yourself since you started?
Modeling has changed me in many aspects! I started super young so I've had lots of time to think through who I want to be in my life and what I want to do. It's made me more driven as a person and I'm so grateful for modeling. It's my whole life! I think I'm a more well rounded, secure person now that I've grown up in the industry! I've had a lot of trial and error, but all that has put me exactly where I need to be!
What kind of life would you like to have?
I want a happy life. I know I want success, who doesn't, but how I know I made it in my life is if I'm happy or not. Happiness is the definition of success to me. If I'm happy and secure, how could I not live the life of my dreams?
What are the achievements you are proud of most today?
I'm proud of all of my achievements, but getting the cover of Malvie is definitely one of my best highlights of my career. I'm very grateful for everything that's happened in my life. I cant wait to see what else my life has in store.
