Mohammadreza, can you tell us more about yourself and how did you get involved in the photography business?
Me Mohammadreza Pourian 43 years old, started photography at age 10 with an old Contaflex analog camera, we had to wait for a while for the photo to be printed to see the final result, that was hard but satisfying. then I bought a digital camera and stepped into the digital photography world first I used to do photography for interest but later it became my main career in addition I started teaching
I've tried many genres but my favorite is Fashion and Portraiture
What are the most important lessons you have learned about portrait photography so far?
In general, the most important thing in photography is light control and its recording which is also true for portrait shooting another point is that you can capture your inner feelings at the right moment and the audience understands it when seeing your photo
How has photography influenced you as a person and what do you love most about being a photographer?
I went on many trips to photograph in which I met new people and their cultures which changed my vision of life. The thing I love most about being a photographer is that you can capture an unrepeatable moment & the feeling behind it will be everlasting
What has been your most successful moment to date in your career so far?
My photos have been published in "National Geographic" Magazine and festivals, but what I like most is the joy and happiness of the people whom I photographed when they see their photos
What gives you ideas and what inspires you to create your beautiful images?
Observing many photos and combining concepts of nature and life that can all be displayed in the form of an image
You are a creative mind with an exceptional eye for detail, are you able to talk us through your process when creating your art?
Thank you for your compliments, all this is created after years of experience and work with pure love, which leads to creativity and accuracy. in this way you do it involuntarily during your shoots
What are the most difficulties during your shoots?
the biggest difficulty for me was that many of the concepts I wanted to create did not match the model . in my opinion, both photographer and model should be in harmony to create a good work ; and in some cases this lack of coordination has made it difficult
In addition to being sharp and well lit, your photos are beautifully edited. What is your retouching/production philosophy?
I believe we should try to manage all the elements of sharpness, color and light and composition when shooting, but in many any case the digital photos you see are edited by my talented former student 'Taraneh Khatami' who has been my assistant for years and she does it very professionally
Eliminating imperfections and maintaining the originality of the photo at the same time
What would be some tips you would give to a beginning photographer?
seeing good photos ( a good photo is a photo in which the basic principles of photography are observed and it has no problem ) as much as they can, this makes their eyes well trained.
Practice and learn the scientific principles of light, then by combining the technical part with emotions and art, they can create their best
If you couldn't be a photographer, what would be your other career choice?
I would be a world traveler
