About URBAN BOTANICA

URBAN BOTANICA brings flowers into a world of concrete. On a rooftop between tall apartment blocks with yellow balconies, Ayana Bissakhalova wears a beaded net headscarf, a cream jacket over short shorts, pink blooms at her collar, a black mesh bag and silver holographic boots. Indoors, the same look meets a wall of bright murals, and a corridor papered in faded yellow flowers becomes the set for a black dress with white lace sleeves, purple platform shoes and a crown of fresh flowers.

Ildiko Sopronfalvi keeps changing the colour key: a close portrait under a headpiece of purple and yellow blooms, a bunch of wild grasses held to the face, a black dress with a feathered hem and green platforms against the floral wallpaper, and finally a wide black hat, white top, tie and sheer skirt in front of a huge blue dragon mural. Playful, colourful and full of texture, it is city fashion with a garden growing through it.
