About In Transit

In Transit moves through café terraces, doorways and narrow streets of Paris. In the first look Buliana Simon Arop wears an oversized grey suit over a black lace bralette, close-cropped hair and small gold hoops: seated at a round café table, leaning in a doorway beside a lamp, resting on a sunny step under hard shadows, and striding past a café in black heels.

The second look turns to a one-shoulder black ruched dress, slouchy black knee boots and full, voluminous curls. She leans against and lies back across the bonnet of a silver vintage saloon car, stands knees bent in front of a slate-blue shopfront and looks back over her shoulder in the middle of the street. Yana Khomukha mixes natural daylight with a single black-and-white portrait, keeping the pace of a city walk.
