About Pink October

Pink October is built around a single dress: a pale pink off-the-shoulder jacquard mini with a raised floral pattern and a full skirt. Akissi wears it with her voluminous natural hair as the crown of every frame, first against a dusty pink studio wall, then before a deep orange-red wall with dark green shutters and a rustic wooden fence.


Adrien Lopes moves from graceful studio gestures, a hand at the chin, an arm reaching out, a head tilted to the light, to a standing portrait on cobblestones in black heels. The last two frames step outside onto a black railing above a narrow street of old stone buildings, her arms spread wide along the rail, the soft pink dress glowing against the grey city.
