About Lavender Horizon
Lavender Horizon follows one look from the street to the catwalk. Sydney Schlachter wears a lavender cropped top with a sculpted bow at the open back, a high-waisted peplum pencil skirt with silver embroidery and long blue-grey opera gloves, her blonde hair slicked into a low ponytail. She steps out of a black car with a rear-hinged door, leans against terracotta panels and poses on a white terrace in silver heels.
John Chen shoots from low angles in warm late light, so the clean lines of the outfit stand out against the dark car and the architecture. The gloved hands stay busy, brushing the cheek and folding across the waist. The series then moves indoors to the runway, first in the same lavender set and finally in a red sequinned column gown, walking between rows of guests under the show lights.
