About Somewhere Between the Tide and a Daydream

Somewhere Between the Tide and a Daydream opens under a pale, cloudy sky at the edge of the Pacific. Zoe Hansen wears a sheer silver-grey tulle gown by Leah Maria Couture, scattered with stars, over a metallic two-piece. She throws her arms wide at the waterline, lifts the gown into a cloud of tulle, kneels in the shallows and climbs a bleached driftwood log, the long train trailing across the sand.

Then the gown comes off and she walks into the sea. Shelly Erwich follows her into the water in a silver bikini: kneeling in the surf, hands in her wet hair, head thrown back with the waves around her. Soft greys and blues, tattoos and salt water make it a dreamy, free-spirited take on the end of summer.
