Soul of an Equestrian is a fine art editorial photographed by Mark Sacro for MALVIE Magazine, with model Lauren Kagei. The story pairs a rider and a dark horse in warm, low sunlight, with a lace design by Juliet's Dream.


This set of images was inspired by the soul of classical dressage and features a gorgeous lace design by Juliet's Dream.


About Soul of an Equestrian

Soul of an Equestrian moves between the saddle and the ground. Lauren Kagei rides a dark bay horse draped in a black lace caparison, her long hair loose over a taupe cape, then stands at the horse's side holding the reins as the light filters through the trees behind them.


Mark Sacro keeps the palette deep and earthy: black lace, brown coats, shadowed leaves and a warm late-day glow on skin and hair. The closer frames turn to the bond between rider and horse, her cheek resting against its neck and her gaze turned back to the camera.
