About The Silhouette Aesthetic
The Silhouette Aesthetic is built from one strong idea: a single round spotlight on a plain wall, and a sharp shadow that follows the model like a second figure. Olga Anisimidou wears a black strapless dress with a short ruffled skirt, long black satin opera gloves and a fine choker, her dark hair pinned up with soft fringe and loose strands around the face.
Theodoros Dimitrakis begins in deep shadow, the model seated on a black director's chair at the edge of the light, then brings her into the bright circle in low crouches and half-turned standing poses. As the background shifts from grey-blue to near white, the gloved hands, bare shoulders and cast shadow become the real subject, a quiet study in shape and contrast with a touch of old Hollywood.
