About Then and Now

Then and Now sets two short dresses side by side on a clean white studio background. The first half belongs to a vintage Sears dress from 1967: a black mock-neck shift with short sleeves, worn with black strappy heels and a long sleek ponytail. The second half switches to a body-skimming mini in a swirling green and brown marbled print from Shein, with a long pendant necklace.

Douglas E Barry keeps the camera and the light the same for both looks, so the comparison stays honest. Willa Prescott moves from full-length front and profile poses to closer three-quarter frames, a hand at the hip or twisting the ponytail, glancing back over her shoulder. The bright, even light leaves only the cut and the colour to tell the two eras apart.
