About A Window to Autumn

A Window to Autumn takes place in a garden after dark, around an old wooden house with a green door, a green window frame and a single wall lamp. Arina Chugunova, her fair hair pulled into a low bun, wears a ruffled yellow and orange floral dress with pale trim, a spotted faux-fur stole in some frames and bright red pointed heels.


Yuliya Erysheva lights the scene with direct flash, so the dress glows against the black night and the fallen leaves turn copper underfoot. The model sits on weathered steps and benches, perches on a wooden rail, stands in profile among the leaves and reaches for a bare tree, her expression cool and a little distant, like a figure glimpsed through a lit window.
