Ali Nixad: Collection of Wonder

To begin, can you tell us a bit about yourself and how did you get into the photography world? Do you have any formal training in your background?

This is Ali Nixad 28 Years old Persian photographer. I started shooting when I was 16. My brother bought a DSLR camera Nikon D90 and that was the time I had the chance to shoot with a real camera! While before that it was only playing game with one family Yushika MF2 camera. I've never educated photography officially and it was all by experience, reading books and watching great photographer's job.

What fascinates and motivates you most being a photographer?

As a matter of fact photography itself pushes me to take more photos! The fact that I'm recording a moment which we be gone forever with my camera, to me is like stopping the time!

Tell us a bit more about your project. Is there any particular message you would like to get across to the viewers?

The projects that you are seeing here are things that I did in different places with different teams. I wanted to have them all together here in one album to notice that we can do great artworks here in Iran as well and there is no boundaries to creat art!

What type of projects are dearest to your heart? Why?

Usually low lights projects suits me better! Cause i believe in this dark world there is always one tiny spot of light which can lead us to brighter places!

What advice would you give to someone looking at a career in photography?

I'm not in a position to give advice cause I guess I'm still learning things! But I may suggest to younger photographers : do what makes your heart happy and do not insist on pushing yourself where you don't fit! Go on different genres and find your own!

Is there one piece of equipment or prop that you cannot live without?

Actually I don't believe in equipments for photography. I myself shoot with all camera brands and gears and do not limit myself to just one thing!

How do you use social media in conjunction with your business? What role does it play in your job?

In a country I live in it's everything! There is no agencies or magazines here that supports us so the only way we have to represent our artworks is through social networks.

Do you look to other photographers for inspiration, or does your inspiration come from other sources?

I used to look through other's works to get inspired before but in the past years I mostly look elsewhere : books, poems and movies.

How has photography influenced or changed you as a person?

It really helped me to see through the details and see the whole picture at the same time.

Maybe giving the both perspectives sometimes helped me to go through things in my life better.

What exciting new project should we expect from you in the future?

There are many good news that I can tell only one of them which is having an online interview with one of the idols of Persian Photography in coming month.
