Feminine Strength in Dark Tones keeps to a narrow palette of black, slate and teal. Lyubov Mayer, with long black waves and deep red lips, wears a black blazer over a corset dress, sheer black gloves, a fine gold necklace and fishnet or sheer tights with black heels, against a seamless grey studio backdrop.


Anna Mirmovich shapes the series with light and shadow: half the face falls into darkness, a figure turns to a pure silhouette with a long shadow, and a slow shutter blurs one frame into motion. Two tall black panels open like a door around her, and she walks, crouches, sits and reclines on the pale floor with a calm, steady strength.
